Refuse & Recycling
For information on Summit County's program for household hazardous waste, please visit ReWorks.

In March 2016, the Hudson City Council officially approved Republic Services as the City's Preferred Trash Hauler that offers quality services at lower prices. Starting May 5th, 2016, refuse and recycling pickup in Saint Andrew's Commons will take place every Thursday for all trash haulers.

A mailing sent to all residents from Republic Services provides details around the refuse and recycling program negotiated by the City of Hudson. The mailing is posted here.

The following points are from the mailing with some additional information learned from phone conversation with Republic Services:
  • Both new and existing customers will receive a 65-gallon recycling cart (blue with a light blue lid) between mid-March and mid-April.
  • New customers will receive a 96-gallon trash cart between mid-March and mid-April.
  • Both new and existing customers can request a 65-gallon trash cart in lieu of the 96-gallon trash cart, if that would be more convenient.
  • Residents can place an unlimited amount of household trash out each week.
  • Yard waste will be collected with the trash. It must be bagged, tied or bundled so a single operator can collect it. It must also be less than 50 lbs. and no longer than 4 feet.
  • Residents can place 1 bulk item at the curb each week. See the flyer for more information on restrictions regarding bulk items.
For new Republic customers:
  • Please call 1-800-247-3644 to setup your account.
Please remember, an easy way to help the environment and to save money is for us to switch to a single provider. Republic Services was selected by the City of Hudson as the primary provider and has the advantage of already being the primary provider for Saint Andrew’s. Whether you’ve already made the switch or are considering it, thank you.
